Roxane - '99 Mustang GT
new guy here

its gonna seem like im fighting fire with marshmallows, but i drive a 1999 Mustang GT. i know, the ying of the hybrid yang, so go easy on me. I am mainly active on many mustang forums, so my car already has some work done to it

so far my car is lowered to lessen aero drag, and has a free flowinf(and aggressive sounding) ehaust system, and im alos working on making the intake system flow better with a better TB and plenium. It also helps with HP, since i think my car is slow, 0-60 under 6 seconds isn't fast enough. My spoiler is also moved back to help with downforce(suprisingly, all the spoilers made from 94-04, save the 99-00 were non functional, while mine is)

i also have a sponsorship, so my car isnt going to be a full on high mileage maker like some of you dudes here, but i am interested in making it get some decent mpg. one of my previuos mustangs i was able to get around 30mpg,(it was a V6)

but ya, thats me, the car enthusist who wouldnt mind a few more mpg

That's what all the mustang guys think,

Alas, many years ago I thought I was going to do a Straight Veggie Oil conversion on an old vw, and the name just stuck.

Schwaebz -

Unless you already have OBD II data monitoring equipment, I'll bet you'd love a scangauge.

Can you tell me about your under drive pulley? I've been interested in getting one for MPG, but I wonder if it would lower the juice on my battery over time.

underdriver pullies don't hurt anything on the vehicle CFG. This is coming from an ASE mechanic. They slow down the accessories being run on the drive belt (a/c, alternator, etc.). The only effects is that the a/c doesn't blow as cold as it used to (usually not THAT much of a difference) and the alternator loses a little efficiency. As long as you don't have a high power consumption sound system or something of the sort, you will NOT have one problem. And UDP's increase horsepower by freeing up the crank from more load from the accessories, they increase fuel efficiency by slowing everything down, so you could run the a/c without losing any efficiency whatsoever.

I saw the stang on TV the other night. I was laughing, typical performance mods always increase economy. Lots of people don't realize that. My 91 GT got 27mpg regularly, and my 91 Civic Si gets 32 combined and 40+ on highway trips. Of course, it did do 12mpg on streets of willow, but that was fun. I really need to get back down to the Q and do some autocrossing again.
