It looks pretty normal to me. Light tan is the color they're supposed to be, not white, not brown.

Thanks for the tune up and ECU suggestions OG VX. Those were the easy go to next steps. Also I've made another appointment with my podiatrist to see if he can get the led out of my foot. All prior attempts have failed. I have to approach this differently. I like to compete at the track in my 2002 Boxster for fast times. Now I have to compete with myself for best MPG. An inverse reality. Also FYI I'm not a sir, but don't call me mam ;-)

Haha, I'm so sorry! Another member PM'd me to inform me of my error there, but by that point, I figured I'd already stuck my foot in my mouth.

Yeah, it's certainly hard to make the crossover to ECOperformance driving. Now, I find my self loving life in the "slow lane".

Do you have instantaneous feedback/monitoring yet with a MPGuino? That's an absolute must. However, IMHO, I'd recommend a vacuum gauge first. Run with just that for a tank or two. The gauge really helped me to get the "lead out of my foot". I didn't realize how much a (seemingly) small amount of decreased pressure in my foot could affect MPG's/vacuum so much. It's crazy how sensitive our pedals are. Thus, the increased popularity of the handle throttle mod on this site, I suppose...

Yea I'm still working out some of the basics on the car. All in good time.

Measuring is a must!! This girl loves to measure stuff. So as soon as I get the basic issues sorted out the measuring will come next.

I also need a working stereo. That's a priory. Makes slow much more enjoyable.

I'm on the look out for the Federal CPU on ebay. after measuring the sorted out stock machine, I'll add that to see how it goes. I want to take my time so I can measure each experiment and see what happens. It's the scientist in me ;-).

This project is too fun though for sure.

Plugs look good color wise, but I'd check the gap on them. They look a little tight (or too close). Should be .039-.043 in.

Hello all, Happy Thanksgiving! I appreciate the insight on the plugs.

Thankfully, my VX has been running "back to normal" over these last few warmer days. I also realized at my last fill up that my MPGuino was incorrectly calibrated by my last adjustments. So much so, that it was off by 5 mpg at fill up. Said I had 50 mpg, but actually achieved 55mpg for the tank. I beat my record last tank for most miles on a tank. 449.8 miles, filled up with 8.12 gallons of gas. I filled up this go around with 93 octane and immediately saw a nice increase. I beat my record going home from work yesterday afternoon! It was a very streamlined, low traffic trip, due to the holiday. 49 degrees outside. Ran 68.2 mpg on a 36.2 mile trip!

For the winter, I am driving the family around on the weekends in the VX, which beats the pants off our 98 F150. So, my tank numbers are going to look really crappy in comparison to my work-week trip numbers. But, we are saving some serious money.
