P&G works!

I got excited about my trips today, I figured I had to brag... I decided to really get into trying out P&G instead of DWL... I normally pulse up to between 55 and 60mph and then glide to between 40 and 45. Restarting the engine and accelerating away seems really smooth from 42-ish... Today I drove about 190mi in five legs...

Leg 1:
Clay, WV to Gassaway, WV. I used WV-4 for the whole trip, and got into a rhythm of P&G. Ambient temp at beginning of trip were near 60F... I averaged 51.3mpg indicated when I pulled into the hospital parking lot... Given that I drove through town that wasn't bad...

Leg 2:
Gassaway, WV to Burnsville, WV. I used WV-4 and WV-5 for this trip, and without being familiar with this part of WV-5 I made a few mistakes, but with temps nearing 70F I pulled into my bank branch in Burnsville sitting at 60.3mpg indicated... The car was a little heat soaked from sitting at the hospital for 20-30 min, which might have helped boost mileage

Leg 3:
Burnsville, WV to Glenville, WV. I used WV-5 and finished this leg on US-33... The UG didn't reset in Burnsville and I did a couple errands in town, got stopped in road work and seemed to catch every red light... Average dropped to 53.7mpg indicated

Leg 4:
Just outside Glenville, WV to Normantown, WV
The UG reset during a roadside bathroom break so I'm counting this as a separate leg... I crossed three hills and the trip was only 9mi, but I averaged 46.2mpg indicated anyway...

Leg 5:
Normantown, WV to Clay, WV
I used US-33, county road 23, and WV-4 of this trip...
Like almost always, I tried to time my pulses and glides to match the twisty roads so I'm not braking into corners and gliding uphill... Ambient temps near the end of this leg were 60F... I averaged 53.5mpg indicated on this trip...

From my experience, well times and executed P&G yields way better mileage on my car on rural roads than DWL ever did... My trips were a solid 10% better, in less than optimal weather, running a winter blend fuel, on winter tires of unknown pressure(and 5% up sized) than they ever were over the summer in 80+* weather on almost bald summer tires kept at 45#... I'm thoroughly impressed...

Nice! I'm still playing with P+G. I'm basically all freeway, though, so I've a tough road to hoe.

if this trend continues I'll have a record setting tank average... What's got me so impressed is that I never checked tire pressure, am on winter tires(205/65-15 Mastercraft Glacier-Grip) and dealt with wet road surface and cooler than summer temps... Not to mention I lost my front belly pan at some point during all the snow and ice... All I've got is grille blocking and a modded lower airbox

Just wanted to update here... my first tank with mostly P&G and the sixty degree weather worked out to almost 43mpg, which is right in line with my summer averages... I wonder if 50 mpg is possible in the summer?
