Tesla Roadster 2

The next gen Tesla Roadster is due to go on sale as early as 2020.

620 mile range on a reported 200kWh battery. Doing the very rough math, than is about 104MPGe.

0-60MPH in 1.9 seconds - staggeringly quick! The quickest production car, ever. Also 250+ MPH top speed.

All wheel drive, and has four seats.

Very expensive in an absolute sense at $250k - but very cheap relative to the super / hyper cars it will replace; which cost as much as several million dollars.

I have heard arguments that the 1.9s 0-60 time is impossible, mostly due to the limitation of traction, maybe it has a super-advanced traction control system?

"Most F1 cars weigh around 1,300 pounds with the driver and boast over 750 horsepower."
I do not know why I am looking at production motorcycles, but the 2006 Suzuki GSX-R1000 has the fastest 0-60 at 2.35 seconds. It's tested wet weight is 444 lb and has 147.3 hp. If it were scaled to 1,300 pounds, it would have 431 HP. Top Fuel motorcycles and dragsters are so fast they shortened the drag strip so fewer people died.

To accelerate at 1g, a car would need to get to 60 in 2.73511683 seconds. https://jalopnik.com/the-fastest-0-6...ive-1792093851

Jalopnik also kindly shares Stapp’s Law: “The universal aptitude for ineptitude makes any human accomplishment an incredible miracle.”

The Roadster 2 has 3 motors - 1 for each rear wheel, and 1 for the front wheels. In total, they produce a bit more the 7,300 foot pounds of torque.

It has electric motors which are fairly easy to have precise traction control.

The 0-60 time is for the base model. They plan on a performance Signature model.

The base model Roadster 2 has the plaid mode. That is the 1.9s 0-60MPH. The performance model spec is only said to be even higher performance.

Traction control really isn't the issue. What matters is the friction between the tires and the road. As far as I can see, the only possible way to do this would be with super-sticky tires, which would ruin your range, and probably compromise handling.
