Hockey: what transmission did you get?

Chevy started a fight with Nissan for "cheapest new car MSRP" in Canada: they introduced the redesigned Spark at a $9995 base price, undercutting the Micra's $9998 price. Then Nissan retaliated at $9988. Sadly, Chevy held its ground.

But you don't get air conditioning (and a bunch of other stuff) in the base models.

Went with the manual transmission.Would not have gone any other way metroMPG.Was a bit of a hassle to find the car I wanted because I did not want steel wheels with hubcaps as i wanted the Alloy wheels and also cruise control was another want so to find this car with those options and the color was a bit time consuming dealing with a couple dealers and the price I was willing to pay out the door.

The MSRP was 15,700.00....Got the new lil blue out the door for 13k so I felt good about that deal.

So far best tank of gas is 42mpg and that was the last fillup yesterday. It has gotten better since I would think at a bit over 2k miles it is broke in.1st few tanks of gas were 38-39 mpg.

Will try and start a Spark thread this weekend.

Yeah, small / efficient cars are not exactly flying off the lots these days.

Make a thread for it!

Just got done with a media drive for the Spark. Lovely thing. Drives much better than the Mirage, though initial experience with the CVT points to economy being lower on the highway (possibly in the 22-25 km/l ranger rather than the 25+ the MIrage can do).

Still, feels and drives more like a big car, despite actually being smaller.

I would hardly believe anyone in the U.S. would purchase a car without air conditioning. I would not, even though I almost never use it.
