Car is bougth and first fuel consumption test done and it works much better than expexted:
https://youtu.be/3QdXmkd1I60
Test on my stock Touareg 2.5TDI with 6 speed manual gearbox This weigths around 2000 kg and is quite big car:
80 km/h= (10km average,dry)
100 km/h= 7.3 l/100km (20km average, wet road)
120 km/h=8.8l/100km (20km average, damp road)
140 km/h=11,0 l/100km (20km average, dry)
160 km/h= 14.1 l/100km (20km average,dry)
180 km/h= 18.9 l/100km (10km average, dry) Was not anymore super relaxing speed at nigtht. Top speed is around 200 km/h.
You can do a search based on Airstream trailers and Touareg. High numbers. As always, it isn't weight, but shape. Published writings by Canadian RV dealer Andrew Thomson. See Can Am RV website and RV Lifestyle magazine.

But a trailer over 7000-lbs?. At a 10-15% tongue weight of 700-1000-lbs, one needs to have around 400-lbs Axle capacity at both ends in using American/Canadian style weight distribution hitches. (The Euro standard low tongue weight makes for increased instability).

The trailer FE test is simple enough, though. Load the T-reg up to weight capacity. Run a 200-mile roundtrip from a fillup and then weigh on the truck scale showing both axles separately, as well as gross. Drive at the same speed at which one would be towing. Use cruise control.

Deduct 30-40% based on decent aero efficiency. 40%+ for a bad shape. 50% for bad shape plus stop and go. Etc.

The difference between a penalty of one-third to one-half just isn't meaningful unless the towing miles constitute a significant fraction of all miles travelled. That you need to answer first.

My car weights me 110 kg in drivers place, and 20 liters of fuel in tank:
FL635kg FR605kg
RL 505kg RR545kg

So weight without driver: 2180 kg
NOKIAN HAKKAPELIITTA LT2 215/85R16 115Q STUDDED - Rengaskauppa.net verkkokaupasta

Ordered 215/85R16 Nokian Hakkapeliitta LT2 studded winter tires which have a rolling resistance rating of C (6,8 ≤RRC ≤ 8,0), but these are class C2 tires which means their rolling resistance rating in passenger tire standards c1 is between B class (6,6 ≤RRC ≤ 7,7) . They can also have higher tire max pressure .

With these my speedo will also be spot on correct.

See page 17 for more details:
https://ec.europa.eu/energy/sites/en...tion_final.pdf

On the inspection 3 springs were broken and brake hose needs to be changed. Ordered also eibach 30mm lowering spring kit to solve that problem.

Audi has made a e-tron Quattro concept which can go as low as 0.25 Cd. (0.27 for the hydrogen version)

Since you're willing to get it lower (for the sake of aerodynamics?), I assume off-road capability is not a top-tier priority for this project. Are you also considering to turn it from AWD to RWD-only in order to decrease transmission drag losses?

Friend found 3d model of Touareg V10 and this is the stock simulation of it in Autodesk flow design. Its pretty close to my calculation as the difference is only 5% range. Now make new model with few aeroparts to make a comparison run. My Cd target is in the 0.29 range and then the fuel consumption should be 4.5 L/100km@ 100km/h speed

Well, those Euro full-size SUVs are roughly similar in size to a Tahoe anyway...

Well first year with this car havent been easy. Lot of electrical problems with it all the time and also water leaks here and there which have been common in this car model. Few modifications have already been made. Adjusted the torsion value of camshaft. Better LRR tires. at the moment fuel consumption at 82 km/h avg speed has droppped to 5,8-5,9 l/100km when I bought the car it was 6,3 l/100km. So fuel consumption is about 8% lower.

In finland taxes insurances and other costs for this big car are high about 5€ per day without driving nothing with it. So I try to use it only when there is need for big car.

Thanks for the update.

That is not too bad for such a big vehicle. But the 5 euros per day make it fairly expensive.

5.4 liters at 82 km/h. and 6,6 l/100km at 100 km/h
- Installed smooth undertray (whole underside)
- flat hubcaps back on
- Tire pressures to sidewall max which is 3,8 bar
- Installed back one small grill block piece, which I took out when there were coolant leaks.

Next
- kammback spoiler
- turning tire covers
- ecu remap
- custom mirrors
