We need a video
Has anyone recently done a search for "saving gas" or "gas-saving tips" etc on Youtube?
The videos are all terrible. Either they are some schlocky short bit from a local newscast, or they are selling some rip-off product that takes your money and returns no fuel economy.
We should make our own video, maybe simply stating the top ten simple things you can do to save money by saving gas in your car.
Who else is going to be at HybridFest? I can bring my camera, I am sure there will be some other people at the event, we could wrangle into giving a couple tips.
Put a message at the end saying we have more gas saving tips at Ecomodder.com and we might be able to get a lot of people here to learn more.

Good idea - to have a legitimate video there above the rest.

Recently I've been really interested in doing something with video, but I have neither the equipment nor any idea what I'm doing.
Does anyone?

I have a vid-cam, tripod, and a radio voice (not a good TV presence)
BUT, I have no clue how to edit electronically. VHS and we're all good.
What about a compilation from folks and someone cuts it together?

I was the AV nerd in high school. I know a thing or two about video editing, but don't really have the time. I can give some tips if anyone wants to dive in.

What say we try to get something together while we're at hybrid fest? I think it would be a grand old time. Don't need to finish, but film, yay?

I have a Super8 set-up, but film is going for upwards of $1.10/foot these days. Processing, editing, and telecine is a several week process too

*shaking head* You guys may know a lot about cars...
You can shoot the video with most any decent digital camera. Download it into a computer. Then edit the video using some sort of software. I like Sony Vegas DVD. Sheez, you can almost make a feature film quality movie with this software. Once you have edited the video, you can export it as a video ready for Youtube, or make a DVD with it.

I was thinking that at Hybridfest, I jet get plenty of footage and interviews, then can decide exactly what to do with it afterwords.
Maybe do a short video on "How to Save Money on Gas", and then another one on why we are tinkering with our cars, and encouraging other people to not settle for "good enough".
PS: I have Final Cut Pro and a JVC 3-chip HD camera.

I shoot / edit video for a living... I don't write scripts however
I have full access to full HD editing stream from shooting to output on Blueray.. and Dolby 5.1 surround if needed.. however I see this being made for youtube.. to promote it better, but the source could be in full HD from input to output then downgrade it to web video for promotional uses.
