When you go to pick up a girl and she says "you expect me to ride in that?".

You go to pick up a girl that likes you and she says "oh, your car has a really cool, CB antenna" because she can't think of anything else to compliment about the car.

"You know you drive a jalopy when you have to give special operating instructions to someone who wants to borrow your car."

Wait, people want to borrow your cars?

I do not remember any dates ever commenting on any of my cars, except one, long after she married someone else, kept telling me how small my Prelude was.

She is under five feet.

I am over six.

My sister thought that as soon as I got the Accord I would want to get rid of my Civic.

She claims to be the smart one in the family!

If women complain about my Civic I do not want to date them, but after I have driven women in Civic, I have transported some in my Accord, and nobody said anything.

... When you put a photo of your car on your favourite dating site profile to save yourself the trouble of candidates like that.

My car got towed from the designated parking area once while I was backpacking.

The park police said "it looked abandoned."

That spraypaint was there to STOP the rust...

Side note, I picked my wife up in that car to go on our first date.

OTOH, that's a good filter for women you really don't want to date. Only happened to me once. The joke was that the "jalopy" was my almost-restored '50s Jaguar, which these days is going for upwards of $100K. (This happened in the '80s, though, so I didn't get anywhere near that for it.)

I went through my folder and 1172 pictures on my camera, but I can't find it.

At Springfield German one year on Father's day, there was a patina'd VW Beetle with a caved in hood. Hand lettered in red: "Not an abandoned vehicle".

Here's the car in question when the girl said "you expect me to ride in that".

The girl was a friend of my girlfriend, so it didn't matter. I told her if she wanted a free ride, then she would get in.

I found this in a parking lot once and had to take a photo. Notice the door locks.
