I, for one, love to see the ingenuity and effort of folks like Mr. Fry. It would be great to have my choice of products such as his, not just to save money on my horrid commute, but to help support small business. But... living in a big city rife with unpracticed, unconcerned, inattentive and oft-uninsured drivers has already caused me to all but abandon thoughts of a motorcycle commute. If I could only get over this fear (or have some reassurance about driver safety), I'd gladly park my gasaholic and drive to work in a Zing! or something in its class.

Anyway, keep up the good work sir!

Gotta leave room for some improvements in later versions, yet you also gotta build a version of it one day.

The better is the worst enemy of the good.

Don't make the same mistake Loremo did, changing their design and even propulsion method when Loremo 1.0 was just about ready for production.
In the end, neither 1.0 nor 2.0 made it out of the factory ...

Likely the biggest leap in the near term will be POC to Zing! #1. That's what you want to be driving around. Subsequent adjustments (although exciting to you) will be mere refinements to a sound idea basis to the rest of us.

And yes, Doug, I, too, am anxiously awaiting further details of your build. (Seemed like a lot of commas there for a while.)

pretty easy to make it perfect enough to never run.

i'm thrashing.

i'm trying to get too much done in life, and nothing is getting done.

don't know which project to finish, and which ones to axe.

trike is so close, another 1000 bucks and 40 hours of work and it would probably be titled and on the road.

get the small projects done first, then you will feel less overloaded and can tackle the big projects.

When I need a kick start I do the 5 min room rescue idea. the room is so messy I can never get it clean. So i set a 5 min timer and start on something. once the timer goes off I can walk away, not feel guilty, and feel like I got something done. Then you have enerta working for you

How did this happen?? Weren't we just in high school?
Ken, this is kind of an old post, but I did not have a car when you wrote it and I am trying to avoid driving at all.

Anyway...

I am thirty-three and called myself "half-senile" in high school. My lack of memory is especially frustrating now that I am trying to earn a second Bachelor's. Just because mama taught me to share, I wake up to go to the bathroom, too.

Oh, sorry, maybe I should have created my own thread!

This is has been a very interesting thread and I honestly hope to see a Zing! on the road some day soon. Some of the off-topic discussions have been interesting, too, regarding "needs" and driving habits, have you ever heard someone order their meal and say "I need a double whopper"?

Is that a sign of the times? I have only been around for so many decades and do not remember. I just know that cars and houses keep getting bigger.

Well, I am going to play some World of Warcraft!

Ahh, I would love to have a 2F1R, reverse trike, tadpole, whatever you choose to call it. Preferably one seater, but definitely not side-by-side seating. My trains of thought generally went with a Metro ICE front and a DC motorcycle rear, with a TRex-off-its-steroids fiberglass over foam body.

If you can weld, you can build one. It's the licensing and insuring that is a pain.
