My wife is French, and I have driven many a Peugeot 106. The first time I ever rented and drove a car in Paris was a Peugeot 106, perhaps 15 years ago. At the time I thought it was an amazingly competant vehicle, though I understand there were many better cars.
My wife's Aunt always drove the most tiny cars... the first time I met her she drove a 104. I always said one day I would have a "Voiture a la Monique," which is what we called small cars. Her last car before she died was a Twingo.
I now have a black Chevrolet Metro... French in spirit if not in deed.
