I'm not sure how effective swapping a VX engine will be for efficiency. Everyone is fascinated by the early-era factory wideband, but the NTK sensors are expensive, and the VX engines are high mileage used up 13-18 year old engines. They don't get any better mileage than any of the other Honda D15 with the same transmission bolted to it, really.
Your best bet is to run ANY of the D15 heads and incorporate your own lean burn wideband setup. A JAW from 14point7.com and some hunting for a deal on one of the Bosch LSU sensors comes to about $100.
