I finally understand lol thanks for clearing that up for me. i havent been on EM much lately ive been pretty busy with other things, but noticed in my yahoo i had a message. I havent made any modifications to my car yet but im definitly looking forward to it once i get some extra tie and money
Oh My god, i never noticed i had this message in my inbox until now!! So sorry.
There is one more del sol on here, but that member has moved on to bigger and better things. Hey, at least you still have your 1.6L VTEC motor, I went ahead and swapped mine out for an Acura Integra GSR 1.8L DOHC VTEC motor. My gas mileage has certainly dropped compared to the old motor.
Have you ever driven in a BMW or Volvo, ever notice it might have an "Economy" gauge in the dash? Basically a vacuum gauge is the poor-man's version. It shows you how "hard" the engine is working. Put your foot down ,vacuum goes down.....light on the foot, vacuum goes up. The goal is to keep your foot as light as possible, keeping the gauge up, thus making the engine work less, thus increasing fuel economy.
You may notice once you install one, you are used to having your foot at a certain level when cruising at 65mph, but with a vacuum gauge, you will see you can cruise at the same speed but with a lighter foot. That is certainly the biggest thing ive noticed.
Hey jedi_sol, i was looking online to see how many other people had Del Sols on EM. Turns out im the only one with the less economical VTEC lol. Well i was looking at your car mods and noticed you have a vacuum gauge on your sol, ive been thinking about doing the same but i dont really understand what it does. will you please explain it to me?
