I did the same swap as you last year d15z1 into a 91hf. I was wondering exactly how you mounted the ecu. Mine has been on the passenger side floor for over a year now.

Oh great mighty one. I need to ask your sure fire opinion. I am driving an 89 Honda Wagon, stock manual transmission. I have a trailer hitch attached. I need to put in a new engine. My choices are a Z1, HF transmission with the lean burn controller, or a vtec engine with an HF transmission, or just a vtec engine and controller.

My question is power trade off's vs. mileage. From your conversion, it appears the lean burn/HF route has some substantial mileage potential. In your opinion, how is the low speed pulling power? If I were pulling a 4*6 trailer, up a steep grade, how would it fare?

Just an aside, I admire your willingness to try things out, just to see, what if.

Just a suggestion, after your recent road trip experience. What do you think about adding a members only section. Where emergency request for assistance, local resources ( parts new, used, or otherwise could be obtained ) or just moral support. I, myself don't use any the popular social networking sites. But i do try to check in on ecomodder.com, at least twice a week if not more. And most people check their email daily. Might be something to take a full membership poll. Does that sound like everyone could participate in; by establishing rules and protocols. Sort of like ecomdder road side assistance.

    Example:

Alert; instant message, tweet, or email to let members online view it

Resources; what members are willing offer in way of assistance

Just by the idea of ecomodding, we aren't the everyday traveling public. Seen your ( stranded post ) and thought i would just put this out there. Since i couldn't be any help personally. Glad to see you made it.

...earlier, you asked for "inputs" so here's a "blue-sky" one: How about an X-Y MPG waterfall chart with a star marking where YOUR car falls in the continuum of MPG values...with the bubbled wording: "You are HERE"

Make the chart a single, universal valued creation, with the X-Y "starred" location being determined by the persons MPG value.

DOn't ask me about multiple-vehicle people...uh, maybe multiple stars?

Hey I was wondering, why do you want to do the Civic VX (d15z1) engine swap when the d15b6 engine is the best for fe? right?

Where did you acqure the D15Z1 for your CRX. I read that you got it from a Canadian importer of JDM engines, and I was wondering if this importer has a website. Thanks in advance.

Hi There! Chuck from Wired.com here; we chatted some time ago about basjoos' Civic. I'd love your thoughts for a piece I'm working on about Honda and Ford offering what amounts to a hypermiling program in the next-generation Insight and Fusion hybrids. Honda's system is called Eco Assist; Ford's is called Eco Drive. Both include a dashboard display that provides real-time fuel economy information and a visual display showing how economically you're driving. If you've got a sec, can I give you a ring to give you a rundown on what it is and get your thoughts on it for the piece?
