Yes, the weights did affect my transmission shifting, allowing me to wrap on more throttle on without the downshift characteristic showing up, but now I'm having some issues at the top end. My pulleys were worn before I started, so I'm having trouble utilizing the last few bits of ratio at the top end.
Next mod up: electric conversion.
