I'd like to see a picture of a front end without attached flow... Following your logic, you could take off the bumper and the whole front fascia, flow will still be attached, and drag won't change. ...

Busting an aerodynamic myth -- Planes don't fly due to Bernoulli Effect

I think this topic deserves its own thread because it of how widespread the myth is and how important this is to aerodynamics, including car aerodynamics.

It's one of those "facts" that we were...

Instead of making a bullet nose which will direct air up into the flat windshield, you can make a tub shape to direct air toward the sides, like that NASA truck

The best space to leave open would be the lowest and most central. So it would make more sense to put shields in front of the top grill and the foglight openings, and leave the bottom center open.

The Prius uses them to run cooling fans when it's parked so the interior doesn't get so hot. That's probably the best use for solar.

I'm reading about the FWD GMC motorhomes on Wikipedia.

Check out the chassis. FWD means the load floor is really low. The wheels are suspended by bogies instead of axles!

Also, I think the aerofoil shape is misapplied to cars. The reason a wing has a front end that's rounded is because it has to work through a wide angle-of-attack range. A plane creates lift by...
