IIRC, the limiting factor in the 500A controller is more the diodes then the fets. I would say upgrade the diodes and you can probably push it to 700A as long as the controller stays cool.

In theory, the limit is just bus caps and PFC and output transistor. The voltage sense circuit can be adjusted with different resistor values. The current sensor is good to 100A.

The input rectifier is just an array of diodes. You can pass DC straight through it, though there would be some loss. You can tap into the DC bus at the output of the rectifier before the PFC booster...
