If you have the same tires it should not have that much difference to rain or snow behaviour. Only difference is the gyro effect which does not allow change of direction so easily with heavy wheels?...

For the same price you can just about get a used Leaf or Volt that isn't reconstructed. I'm not really sure exactly what you're looking for though. Those might not suit...

Is your tire pressure off?
The lower the pressure, the more the sidewalls will flex and the more the friction...

Brakes transfer heat into the wheels and tires too. That is why the fronts are warmer than the rears, fronts do more work when stopping. Wheels/tires will warm with use fbut I'm sure most of that...

If you add more air to the tires, they will flex less and generate less heat through internal friction. Their rolling resistance will also go down. Not sure if it would be enough to show on your IR...

Do you still do that? I've heard stories about AC seals and whatnot needing to see some activity over the winter months to keep from drying out. I run mine every now and then just for that reason....
