I'm sure you can cover most of it. Just make a part of it detachable for towing or heavy loads, since it's a truck. Just my suggestion.

I think for the winter you can cover the whole area. Or if you want to be on the safe side you should cover those vents on the sides and leave the central one opened. IMHO
