Today I saw very nice looking grille block made of smoked polycarbonate, seemingly made by some aftermarket company called HEKO. Quick googling showed they reside in Poland, but maybe they will ship...

The 1983 Ford Probe-IV concept is one example of intentionally placing the lower edge of the airdam below that of the belly.At Cd 0.152,it worked out pretty well for Ford....

First I used same style screws you did, later I swapped for flat head screws.

Some folks actually measured the ram air pressure in front of a radiator in Denver,Colorado at 70-mph.
They saw a 0.051 psi boost,for a 0.418% power increase

Here is my Opel Astra grille block. It´s made 3mm thick black coroplast and I installed it with cable tie. Average fuel consumption drops about 0.1-0.2 liter /100km.
