I agree 100%, but it sells cars. Imports did it in the 80s and were reliable with it, so a lot of people think "reliable" when they think "overhead cam" so that's what they want to buy. GM / Ford / Dodge did it to sell cars. Could they have made just as reliable a pushrod engine? Heck Yeah they could, the LSx are still pushrod.
