Kind of mean spirited don't you think? He was very articulate. Although I don't necessarily agree with his conclusions most of our political heroes in DC do.

I wouldn't use the term "hero" to describe the current players in DC's shenanigans.

Sorry I meant it sarcastically. I guess I should of put a couple of these at the end.

well for one... one of your fellow ecomodders lost his job due to the big three screwing up. hows that for NOT letting the big 3 fail?

Oh, and letting them fail also effects you, whether or not you know it. its like how the banks failing effected most people even though they don't work for a bank. It has to do with the US as a whole, not individuals.

Just wanted to go the opposite of the general public

I can't say I agree entirely with the circumstances under which the "bail out" has become necessary... but, nonetheless, it IS necessary.

3 million jobs is a lot to lose. Think about the kind of work that will be lost by sheet metal companies, glass companies, the revenue lost from electric/gas/resource companies, the tax revenue lost (that we'll have to pick up, b/c you know, of all entities, the gov't ISN'T taking a pay cut.), tire companies, bearing companies, all those little companies (like Mitsubishi) that produce parts for American cars.

Losing the big 3 altogether will screw EVERYONE. Rather pay 15-25Billion with some stipulations that their business model gets updated than lose 3 million jobs instantly, while picking up the billions in tax slack that the big3 leave behind, and devaluing a large part of the american economy vs. foreign economies.

This big sissy freeloader wants 'us' to save his college education... I mean... his Grandpa's and second cousin's (undoubtedly lifelong Democrats) pensions, but he won't even drive a domestic car himself.

By the way, here's the 'authority' he's quoting... the hysterical Republican Ben Stein.

Geez Deuce can you express your point without being:

Condescending
Abusive
and just down right mean spirited.

Just about everybody decisions are based on how they affect them. Altruism is not ones first choice.

Ben Stein? Hysterical? You'd have to be dead to be boring by that comparison :P

Will the outright failing of the auto industry affect me negatively? Absolutely. More unemployed people means less retail spending which means less income for my company which means cutting costs, layoffs, and me changing jobs from web development to sanitation.

I'm just against the principal of supporting a failed business model. Don't even get me started on crap like the RIAA...
