My first car was a 50 Champion 4-door. I liked it but my high school 'buddy' thought it was hi-larious to open the rear door at 45mph. It never closed right after that.

Studebaker considered rear-engined cars in '46.

Also there are some interesting Loewy design studies.

It would be interesting to see your mod on a 1946-51 Starlight coupe.

I was told about your Studebaker project and had to check it out since there are not too many above ground or at least that have not been recycled into something else.
Great project

I also have a Studebaker Champion it was a gasser spending a lot of time on the dragstrip.
When I purchased it about 15 years ago it was partially converted into a street rod
I ended up going that route for a while with a small supercharged small block chevy getting almost 25 mpg and about 400hp
now it has a stroked blown small block I built approx. 750hp.

I have a ton of literature on these cars from what I remember they where 2300 pounds
stock and close to 30 mpg
