Pulled the cyl head and there is no damage to the cylinders or valves
I ordered a new timing kit and gasket kit and going to try to get this car back on the road soon.

Let me know what you think.
I know the car's off the road now, but in between waiting for parts you could easily do this and gain a couple MPG. Paint the coroplast white, attach it to the hatch. You'll have a fully functioning, OEM looking car.

That is a little to much for me I want the car to look like a Celica not a Vw, I am thinking of doing a window shade/kamback, something along these lines...

Maybe a bit larger and to the template.

That's a nice base for a hypermiling project. The RWD layout gives some freedom of choice for engine swaps and other mods...

Yeah it is pretty awsome, I love the car to death. I got my parts in today so she should be back om the road soon, timing kit including the chain, tensioner, guides, cover gasket, waterpump gasket, sprokets,ect... And I picked up a master gasket kit, there are probably duplicate gaskets but I would rather have more than not enough.
Also purchased a Engnbldr 268 cam, we will see hlw that effects mpg's, it is an Rv cam/ low rpm power.
Going to loop the powersteering rack and get rid of the pump/belt/resivor, and finally pull all the Ac related stuff.
Then get the motor together and drive this bad boi.

If it ends up with a higher torque at lower RPM, as usual, you can also benefit from a higher rear-end ratio
