Thanks every one - yeah, she's not a bad old car. All I can (want to) afford for now

@cleanspeed1 - gosh, yes, for some reason electronic ignition never even dawned on me, even though in the back of my mind I was sure there was something like that for my car. Doh! Looks like it'll be way cheaper than a full on FI head too and a quick guess is that I'd at least get to 1/2 way JethroBodine's consumption here. I'm definitely going to start looking at this. Petrol is heading towards R10/L again $1.5/L here in the RSA.

@Jethro - wow man, that's insane. Your consumption (or lack thereof) is really awesome. 40mpg seems like a treat.

The END

Got rear ended Wednesday the 10th of August about 22h20 by one of two girls who where dicing each other and under the influence. It happened moments after I pulled away at the traffic light.
