How did you go about testing the increase/decreases that the intake provided?

In all honesty, my verdict is purely a guess based on how the car behaves on my commute... the loss of TQ below 1200 RPM was asked on a hill in Glenville that I used to climb in 5th by starting at 28 mph and at the top I would be going 25... now if Iím not above 30 at the bottom, I canít crest at 25 without going back to 4th... oddly enough it has enough TQ at 32 to crest at 27mph...

The gains above 1500 RPM were based on the Hill out of Glenville that I can now climb in 5th by starting at around 42-45mph depending on traffic... before, I would start in 5th at around same speed but about 3/4 way up I would have to go back to 4th due to speed loss(less than 35 on that hill)... now I crest at 39-40 in 5th

Iím currently working on my next mod, smooth wheel covers... I took off the factory ones and am using strapping tape(same stuff I use for grille blocking) to fill in the holes... Iím trying to go for a OEM(ish) look, so the centers and lug holes are uncovered...

Oddly enough Iíve not found any major difference between stock wheel covers and none at all(as far as coasting)... maybe smooth will be massively better?

So I changed my mind on my wheel covers... I donít feel that the strapping tape will hold up to the centrifugal force of being on a wheel at speeds up to 110mph, so Iím doing coroplast discs, like I had on the Malibu, screwed onto the outside of the factory covers, they should hold up and I wonít have to redo them later...

So I got my wheel covers on, and had a record breaking commute today... now Iím not 100% sure if it counts, as I did have an oops, leading me to turn around about 3.5mi from home and I started the recorded trip with a mostly warm engine... however I still averaged 51.1mpg indicated... intake temp was 68* though which likely helped... still not sure what gain the coroplast discs over factory wheel covers gave me...

I feel your pain, I hit one just before Christmas. Fender exploded, light broken, hood bent and bumper cover torn.

I’m going for a damage estimate tomorrow and to see if I’m gonna have to fight the ins company over it being or not being a total loss... there is no structural damage, and the cooling system is fine... I need a fender and headlight bracket... I’ve got the giant hole covered over in strapping tape to minimize aerodynamic losses and to hold the rest of the fender on for now... “me and my metro” found me a used fender in same color that I might buy if I don’t decide to mod a pair of fenders, like what OG VX did with his
