Im new to ecomodder but not ecomodding. lol. currently squeezing 49city/47highway out of 1.3 liter 4cyl. lots of killswitch useage and P&G. found lots of great tips on ecomodder so i figured i would finally join. I cant get the garage section to work, im pretty sure its this computer though.

That's already good mileage to start with

Regarding the EM-garage :
while logged in, go to
EcoModder Fleet list - EcoModder.com

You should see a line :
Your Garage: [ Add new vehicle | Add cycle log ]

Click "add new vehicle" , then enter the car's details and give it a name.
Then you can start a fuel log for that car.

Where do you get stuck in the process ?

It's always amusing to see the city/hwy mpg "flip flop" in a non-hybrid. (City higher.)

The garage page crashes my browser. My home computer ate a hard drive, so im using a really old and slow laptop. I blame the computer. I almost got it to work last night but i dont think it saved my car, cause it took too long to load the page and i got logged out, i think... i cant get the garage to open again so it could be there.

edit: the laptop is in a better mood today, got it loaded.

I very rarely drive on the highway, so i only knew the 49mpg for a while. Then on a nice long highway trip i was very pleasently dissappointed to see my mpg go down. quite amusing. i blame extensive kill switch use, hehehe.

I am running a 1994 Suzuki Swift GA Sedan with the 1.3L MT. Is yours the sedan also, or a hatch?
I started at around 45mpg Highway. I improved my highway MPG by 6 or 7% (to about 48mpg) by adding a grill block, some underpanneling, folding my passenger's mirror, and adding a wiper block. Later I got another 6% (to about 51mpg) by adding a SedanKamm.
I see you are looking at getting a Scangauge, but you can also look into the UltraGauge or the MPGuino.

Mine is a hatch. I definately need to do the grill blocking, I looked today and I have tons of holes, more than a regular Geo does. lol, i removed my wipers and passenger mirror.

I saw the MPGuino before, but thought it was only for pre-96 cars. Thanks for making me look again, that sounds like a fun and useful project. Cheaper too! Im excited now. Thanks again.

I would like to see a reliable, accurate test of FE on the removal of the windshield wipers on a Metro/Swift hatchback.
I removed mine, and it feels to be one of the best mods I have done. I have a partial grill block, rear wheel skirts, and front air dam. The best mod so far is the fuel injector cut off.
I use rainex on the windshield, and watching rain drops slide up the windscreen with the wipers on, and then with the wipers removed is educational. I have almost 6 inches of turbulence on the lower windshield with the wipers installed, and none with them removed.

Thats very interesting. My mpg jumped up by 3 when I took my wipers off. I figured it was just by chance, but the numbers have stayed up. I might have to get out and test that sometime. How does the rain-x work for you. I still put my wipers back on when it rains.

The rain-ex works great. I only put the wiper on the car when I fear legal reprisals, or slow city driving. I carry them in the car always. Any speed over 30 and I am fine. I also rain-ex the rear window.
I must admit that "seeing" the better airflow makes it stand out as a worthwhile mod.

I have not tried rain X in about 20 years. All it did for me was make the window glare more at night. I currently use a product designed for spas/hot tubs. I only need to apply it once every 6 months or so. It is called "Spa Fast Gloss" and is put out by a company called "Leisure Time". I agree that it is an amazing difference in wet weather. Bug guts do not stick as well with it either... and that is always nice.
