The best MPG boosting mod you can do for this car is....

100 % gasoline

With it, my dad got 30mpg on his trip to and from work. With E10, he got 24mpg. I didn't drive nor did I calculate his mileage, but I feel that they are right. That is a 6mpg drop because of E 10, or 20%.

I am going to get him run 100% again just to make sure.

The dumb part is, I told him that it [the 100% gas vs E10 gas price] would "pay for itself" every time because of the huge jump in MPG. He replied, "as long as you pay the difference" Even my own father doesn't get it.

Oh, he also wrecked my Geo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Agreed. My 3800-powered Buick gets much better mileage on straight gas than E10. Among other things, I got 37 mpg heading down to Florida on straight gas this weekend, and 30 mpg coming back on E10. The gas was most definitely not the only factor affecting the fuel economy, as my car was learning fuel trims and I was driving a lot faster on the way back.

Well he won't buy 100% gasoline. I don't know why but he can't "justify" the cost. Even though it pays for itself.
