The "3 box sedan" version (nhw10) *were* sold in Europe, but theres not very many of them.
The big advantage I think, is the fact almost nobody recognises it if you debadge it. I really don't like the gen2 and newer liftback shape, so I'd buy a nhw10 if I could find one that isn't gonna die on me or break something expensive like the transaxle.

I was looking at a nhw10 for sale, right around the corner. At a very sketchy car trade lot though, the kind that takes out the bulbs of the dash cluster if theres anything wrong, and won't let you make a test drive. (Let alone a test drive to another dealership to have it checked out before purchase.)

[edit:] wait, no, the NHW11 was sold here. Looks identical to the NHW10 though, forgive my confusion.

Thats why I refer to the first gen as the echo looking prius, then the gen 2 on as the prius looking prius.

In America some people had a lot of issues with the turtle light.

Why? Lawnmors also have a lever that goes from turtle to rabbit, so whats wrong with a turtle lights that indicates the car is having an issue with the heat/altitude and might not have as much power as it would normally have?
Should it just throw a CEL? (because I know a lot of people ignore that anyway, they ignore everything untill its seized solid and strands them by the side of the road.)

I never had a prius, so I couldnt say. I normally do a type of P&G, so I would incorporate the turtle mode into getting better mpg myself.

Maybe its my memory, but didnt the older vw diesels have something that took 15 minutes? I know the had a cold start lever and then slow vs fast glow plugs.

To my wife, P&G means PARK and GO, respectively, and nothing else.
