3 weeks without visiting a gas station.

3 and a half even.

Compared to my 5 fill ups a week over the summer, this is a major improvement. Not really concerned that my actual MPG is dropping (The 3 weeks was 23 mpg with no scangauge) since I'm still using 12 gallons a month compared to 120+.

I'm going to shoot for a solid month next, but it's going to be hard considering winter is almost here and I'm going to have a hard time convincing myself to walk/bike when it's cold and wet.

There should be a contest for least overall consumption. The bicyclists and pedestrians would win of course. But the mpg comparison has some people like me driving just for fun to see how high they can get their mpg rating. I think I am on the same tank since late July. I have to do some driving for work, maybe I can finish up this tank in the next week or two.

Congrats! That also means you saved over $250 smackers to use for whatever you want.

Yeah, it's a great feeling when you think about how much fuel you didn't use, no matter what your milage is at the moment.

Those 5 fill-ups per week were because you had a job with an outrageous daily route, correct?

You know you're an ecomodder when you can't use your 90 day average as a comparison, since you haven't filled up in more than 3 months!

Many of us are lucky enough to be able to live without driving for weeks or months at a time, while others will have to use the car each and every day until something in their life changes (new job, for example).

The job I had was a short term need for a courier, which equaled about 300 miles a day.

Considering it paid better and I would essentially be getting paid to hypermile and enjoy myself, I took it. Now I'm back to regular work and rarely need to drive unless I'm just getting groceries or hauling people.

How much extra do you spend in healthy calorie food? Heh. At under $3 a gallon and a lot of us being able to get well over 30mpg or less than 10 cents a mile, if you eat right how much DO you save by biking. Either way I think its awesome you're getting in better shape and spending less time sitting on your butt driving, but I've always been curious.
