Thumbs up 37MPG with 4door 2000 firefly

I'm getting better combined MPG than the standard EPA ratings (28) with automatic. The standard ratings only take into affect the 1.3L with the two door, not four door. What the hell do they do rag it around town everywhere for the test ? I'm doing about 70% hwy driving.

I just go easy on the throttle, keep my highway pressure at 16-17 (using my vacuum guage) and try not to get less than 5 when accelerating. 40psi in all tires though. I was doing 35 in the front tires for awhile with average 36 mpg. It could be just variance between tanks. I did notice however wear on the front tires on the sides because they were'nt inflated enough I guess. Or I turn to fast. Which could be it.

Some 4 cylinder automatic Metro/Swift/Firefly owners have been known to get 40+ MPG when keeping the speeds below 60 MPH and a few other driving techniques.
