45 MPG round-trip personal best!

Hey, had the Contour out on the highway yesterday. With all the aero mods, HWY is where she really shines...even so, I was pleasantly surprised to see 45.6 displayed on my ScanGauge! Got slightly under 45 on the way home, but the fillup confirmed 45+ for the round-trip!

I wasn't even really babying it...did the 280 mi round trip at 50 MPH which is only 4-5 MPH less than I got the "old" way (i.e. PSL+5 as much as possible).

The downside, of course, was that I had the rad fan removed (as part of an unsuccessful attempt to relpace it w/ a spray bar), so I had the heat going on the uphills--not fun. Also, I figure I should enjoy it while it lasts, because cold weather = less use of the motorcycle around town, and the car can get really cruddy milage there.

But for now, I'm just enjoying a personal-best fill-up that also pushed me into 40MPG "lifetime" on my Ecomodder fuel log!
