5 tanks= ave 40.05

On a tank right now that is 3/4 city and after 400 miles I am at 38.6 which is below where I have been lately but still darn good.

Best 50 mile trip showed 44.7
Best 150 trip was 43.1
Best tank is 40.38

Started back at my old job driving a truck and if memory serves me right, I could get 800-900 miles per tank, IE 80 gallons.

Been hypermiling the truck and after 5/8 tank usage I am already at 800+ miles.
Should have another couple hundred left, if not more. Boss is gonna love me!

Awesome! My #1 goal is consistency *across* a lot of fill-ups. There's too much variability across one tank for me. At 40.05 MPG in April, it's a good bet that you can bring that up in summer. The fun is watching that lifetime MPG creep up under the assault of so many good tanks.

I'm very interested in some of the new models hyundai and ford are putting out with these high mpg tags. Excellent to see some real world proof that they can meet and exceed them.

40mpg from a 2.4L is not too shabby!

Thats really impressive for such a large car. Do you have the auto or manual trans? It seems like hyundai is on the roll with its latest models.

I got the 6 speed manual. Would not have bought the car if it wasn't available.

I think it can do better but I am still learning how to get the most from it. I only live 6 miles from work and it's redlight to redlight.

Lucky if I can keep it from dropping .1 each way.....

My motorcycle will easily get 60+ but it has sat for a few years and I am addressing issues with it's desire to return to the earth before I can ride it again.

Just filled up the work truck today, it's a Freightliner, 18' single axle so the challenge begins...
