500+ Miles on ONE tank !!!

YEAH !!! I finally braved the accuracy of the fuel gauge & MPGuino to push my 1993 Honda Civic VX past 500 miles on one tank of gas !!
Here's the tank entry from my "Garage" : "27th tank - Status quo driving. FINALLY DID IT !! Drove car ‘till it had over 500 miles on the trip meter !!! Yeah !! MPGuino registered 52.4 mpg./9.61 gal."

Car trip meter 503.2/gas consumed 9.3 gal = 54.11 mpg. Not my best mpg, but this just happened to be the tank I trusted enough to push past 500 miles. With what was left, I could have safely squeaked out another 30 miles...

I have tracked EVERY tank since I bought it and it is now apparent that my eco moding driving skills SLOWLY improve with time...

Take care,

Douglas

Excellent! I'm jealous.
Took me a lot longer to get up into the 50 mpg range, and I wasn't able to stay there. But I plan to come back!

Congrats! I'm hoping to get to that number at some point myself, albeit on a larger tank.

500+ miles should be just one stage.

Did my first +500 mile tank in late 90's with a 1989 Lancia Y-10, or Autobianchi. The Car had a fiat 1.0 liter engine and 5-speed Gearbox.

The car was launched in 1985 and it had one of the lowest drag coefficient number at the time 0,31. wvv.automobile-catalog.com/auta_details1.php

Still 25 yrs later it can beat many cars in FE.

The tank was 47 liters / 12.4 gallons

Could do +1000 km on one tank when driven carefully on highway +600 miles.
