Strange, my ex-wife's family had a similar vintage early-'50s Cadillac, and it definitely didn't have that parking feature. Her brother was driving some of us around, and got it stuck in beach sand. We had to jack it up to put boards under the wheels, and the spare tire was a normal one in the trunk.
