it has the straight 6 in it. I will have to lookup what I can get for the parts. I have to get all the facts and parts I need listed out over the next couple months and then look at doing it. Thanks for your input

I'd use a cheap econobox to learn on, not a classic, if it's nice.

If it's a pile, then maybe...

Someone has modified a 1st gen Camaro (or Firebird) to be 100% electric. I will try to find more info and post again.

I agree Frank... On the other hand, I once had a 65 Mustang with the tiny 170" 6 and a 3 speed, rolling on 13" 4 lug wheels... Kinda mis that car though. Dime a dozen, even collectors didn't want them in the early 80s. I saw a rattle trap with that setup recently, unrestored, for $2500... At least the 66 had the 200" 6, and 14" 5 lug wheels.

I always recommend that people start with the EV Album.

EV Photo Album: Our Electric Cars on the Web

It is a great listing of LOTS of electric vehicles, 90% of them being home conversions.

Each entry is a simple listing of a photo or two, what motor, batteries, controller, cost, etc.

Just by looking at what everyone else has done can give you a great idea of what to expect in terms of range, cost, how long it takes to convert, etc.
