87 CRX DX Mods

Hi Team,
I have a 87 CRX DX, that has an HF transmission and (HF) 8 valve head. I'd like to work with this car to achieve the maximun practical fuel economy. I had started collecting HF parts, so I own a HF vacum box, ECU, carb and intake. So, I was thinking of finding a 1.3L carb and doing to de'vac. But, someone took a 86 HF to the local pull-a-part. So now I have access to all the other parts that I need. So, the question is, should I go snag the wiring harness, distributer, and alternator control box, off the HF donor car, and try make everything work? or just devac a 1.3L carb. (I'm told that those are jetted to run leaner without an O2 sensor) Which do think is going to be a better return for the effort?
Facts and opinions are both helpful
Thanks
Jonathan
