Talking 89 Dodge Ram Diesel....27mpg!!

Ok, so my cool ecomodder driving technique was to go 65mph with the window rolled all the way down and my arm resting on the window sill. And the test was only over 200 miles.....so in short, don't take this one too seriously First fill was 27.7mpg, and second fill was 26.2mpg, and the second fill included going up and over a 4,000ft, 5% grade. Truck has gotten 27mpg before on a 500 mile test, I just wanted to see what it did with the bigger injectors in it.

I also attached a dyno sheet of my latest runs. The first was a test run at 35psi of boost and no nitrous, and the second was at 60psi and two stages. Hope you guys enjoy it!!

My truck seems to get the best fuel mileage (29+) during the first 200 miles, then drops off after that (21 to 22 for the tank). Scatchin' my head on that one. I fill til nothing more fits in the filler neck.

BTW that is some pretty nice HP numbers!

Yeah, my sorry numbers of late are no help. Join up. Otherwise, around here, you'd just be another bench racer, ha!

Are you getting your FE from the lie-o-meter or from a scangauge. I don't know but I think the lie-o-meter actually uses the fuel gauge at least partially in it's mpg calculation. If you fill up all the way your tank level won't be changing in the first 100-200 mi (according to the fuel gauge) a la better mileage. That being said, I pay close attention to mine, but haven't observed anything as dramatic as what you're describing.
