Hi Adam. Obviously we're not going to do anything illegal. I have checked the houses on either side of it to no avail.

Your concern is appreciated.

I purposely left out a few steps, but yes, you do or are suppose to contact the police if you do what I suggested. Plus you need a good reason to tow it like its blocking, in a tow zone, private property, etc, etc, etc.

Then you contact the owner and play the waiting game. After a while its yours(steps omitted).

Bonus points if this ends up working: The car already has LRR tires installed.

Start talking to state and local authorities on the phone, and get a hold of the laws in writing. If online, print them off in their entirety. Have the DMV run the plates and contact the last owner. You don't want any surprises, and neither does the car's possible owner. Who knows, maybe if you find them, they'd sell it to you outright.

(That is the coolest color for those cars. Someone at work has a yellow wagon and it looks fantastic)

Send me the VIN, and I will try to track down the last owner.

With that kinda history I wouldn't touch it. Already got burned on one salvaged WRX. Never again. Though if you do get it and its in decent shape I'd ditch the EJ205 before it spins like 12567 main and rod bearings.

Wheels are in motion. We'll see how things turn out next business days.

bhazard, you make a very good point. These aren't the sturdiest and most reliable of engines to begin with and this one has probably not had a very kind and well-maintained 92,000 miles. *googles STi engine price* Just kidding.
