Add an option to +1 a post

Instead of just having the option to thank someone add the ability to give something like a + for the post. The reason being some posts I want to signify that I like it or its funny but I do not feel is appropriated to thank since it is not a useful or informative post.

I do too, FXSTi, but I agree with Phantom. I'd like to see more options as opposed to just the "Thanks" button. Maybe something similar to Yelp with the Useful/Funny/Cool buttons? I dunno.

+1

I agree. To me "Thanks" should be for something useful, but I feel a little bit wierd using it for a "yes, I totally agree". Maybe we need an "Amen" button

I would prefer to just click a button to give props to a post rather than make a post to voice my approval of said post and lengthen a thread by one meaningless post.

I clicked "thanks" just to be a troll.

I think the idea of thanks is for useful info. there should be a thumbs up and down so we can comment on the posts we like and ones we do not.

I totally agree about the "thanks for the useful post" being reserved for useful info versus just agreement ( as in my first " thanks " posted for Pawtuckett in agreement , and thanks for the laugh to the troll comment above by Flakbadger.)

What is wrong with addding to the post count? what is wrong with adding to the conversation? Replying and saying something has an added benefit of bouncing the thread to the top of the recent posts list. More people may be able to see what you found so funny? Nothing wong with that! Perhaps with a higher post count, ecomodder will make more money from advertisers. Perhaps more people will be enticed by what a friendly forum this is.

I don't think the furum needs to be overrun by +1s and -1s and dog bones and scooby snacks and back rubs and gifts and pokes and hugs.
Just say it in a post.

Anyone who has posted more than five times here knows who is helpful and who is not.
