When buying gas was caveat emptor, they would pump the gas up to eye level so you could inspect the quantity, color and impurities; and then it gravity fed into your car.

These are on eBay as collectibles. Buy low and sell high when you're done.

That's why i assigned a rather dismal +/- 1 mpg to my previous assessment. I just can't get very accurate results this way! It's kind of frustrating to make a bunch of small mods and then admit I can't actually measure the results.

Best tank!

Well, I think minimum throttle/ high Hg pressure is the way to go! I just recorded a record tank of 35.5 mpg. I was also using 89 test fuel, which I suspect helped but I will have to do some more testing to find out.

Now onto another question. I have a 3 or 4 inch air dam. I made a cloroplast forward undertray but have not put it in yet. Would it work better mounted: A. Without the air dam B. Attached to where the air dam is attached or C. Attached to to bottom edge of the dam, which might be flimsy?

Second and final question: I made a lower grill block and mounted it "set in" about 2" from the bumper in the grill. I'm wondering if making it flush with the bumper would be better, as then it would help flow air around the bumper instead of formimg a high pressure cavity in front of the air inlet?

I suspect mounting the pan to the bottom of the air dam would be best. I'd reinforce the joint with some 3/4" angle stock, mostly in the center straight section. The grill blocks on my car are mounted flush. For those who can't afford Hucho's book I recommend Joseph Katz's "Race Car Aerodynamics: Designing for Speed".

Thanks!

This cold weather really kills the MPG fun. I think a drive in 16 deg. F. really ruined my numbers.

NICE!!!

A rare case of Aero looking Cool. What year you got? Mine's a 94.

I have an an air dam like yours, but no side skirts or wheel covers. They worth it?
