Aerodynamic Styling

A street beggar stood on a corner soliciting cash for a meal.A passerby stopped and extended two bills towards the tramp.
Recoiling from, and suspicious of the alien-looking second note, the beggar quickly grabbed the dollar, walked away with a look of satisfaction, much to the amazement of the Samaritan who just stood there puzzled, still clutching the hundred-dollar bill.

I'll bite.

The easy answer to boosted MPGs is an aerodynamic alien-looking vehicle.

But us winos still crave the rush of tire smokin power, need the ego boost of a huge vertical grille, fat tires and a throaty V8 exhaust.

Wow... Phil, did you read that somewhere? I've heard similar stories with basically the same point, which I think is to learn to step slightly outside of your comfort zone. Once you're comfortable again, you repeat the process.

I think in this case, the 100 dollar bill is slightly outside the comfort zone of the beggar, and he's unwilling to take the chance on something he's unsure about.

lol, plenty of room for interpretation on that one

Maybe the guy didn't trust himself not to OD with $100 in his pocket.

Or would have felt a target with that much relative cash on hand.

You don't get to be a tramp by being good with money.

Unfortunately, when you show them the $100 bill, their brain translates your wisdom into this :

WHY WON'T YOU LET
ME HELP YOU?!?!?!?!?

The begger saw what he wanted. What he didnt see was much better for him, but he didnt care. He took what he wanted, and didnt care what else there was.

Those with those big SUVs see what they want, but they dont see the underlying truth, that they dont need all that space, and they can indeed be satisifed with a more practical buy, like a compact sedan, or two.

I bought one of those books... and received it. On a canceled credit card.

Who ripped off who?

I never even read it, honestly. I just gave it to a less analytical friend (read: person I didn't like) who wanted it.

The beggar was not an ex-Detroit 3 exec.

"Take what you need and leave the rest." The Band, '70.

On the street, the "Benjamin" would be a ticking time bomb. It would be
almost impossible to get changed due how the beggar looked. If discovered to
have the $100 note, the beggar's life would be in jeopardy.

Beggar wino. "There, but for the grace of God, go I."

Eh, I look like a scrub most of the time, dirty, covered in grease, etc... noone ever blinks when I pull a wad of 50's and 100's out of my pocket.

Then again, they're probably scared because I have a huge knife or gun on my belt. O'well.

(Most people don't know that PA is an open carry state. You don't need a permit to carry a gun in the open.)
