Pretty much the same reaction I had when I first saw the photos of the car.

I'm building something along those lines ... you will hear about it.....maybe a book. The name: Bois De Boulogne
I hope we don't have to see it in a book!

Yes...You will have to see it in a book. Also.
You see I've been wanting to build this Jean DuBonnet Hispano-Suiza re-creation since I saw it in my very first car book (that I still have). So I am entertwining the story of the build up with the story of my life. I call it an auto-biography.

That's an awesome project though

You have to keep in mind that the car wasn't originally designed to run on gasoline. It was Henry Fords dreams to build AND fuel his cars on renewable farm products such as hemp. There were a few entities, (one being Dupont) that pushed certain legislation through congress that effectively killed that dream.

Oh no, I knew that.... I'm just saying how sad it is that the 25-30mpg of a model T is what some people would hope for :/

Looks a lot like a Renault 45 racer . I wonder if it was just coincidence, or if these guys were inspired by the design of the Renault.

Wow, Cd, good find! The similarity is striking.

I'll send a link to the builder's son.

Sadly, his dad - the builder of the aeromodded Model T - passed away last winter.

Starting before WW1.

Ending in 1937.

Mercedes Benz became that company with the merger of Daimler and Benz after WW1.
