Aeroscania 94D 260

http://cid-acb1f13bac776768.photos.l...px/Aero Scania

Bought myself a new project where I can test my aerodynamic add on parts on my own truck. Its 1997 model with 505000 km in the ODO. Plans are big but first I have to refurbish it inside and out and after that register it.

Scania's aerodynamic 'Truck for the 2010s'...when you get back to the future, tell them it didn't happen says Biglorryblog! - Biglorryblog

I try build all these parts they have here and some of my own ideas also.

First tank done with fuel consumption of 25,16 L/100 km or 9.35 MPG. Only mods were FleXcap-hubcaps and little bit of ecodriving techniques. Changed all oils and filters and now the aeromodding can begin on next week.

Lets put the target bar 15 L/100 km or 15 MPG, because I already used some eco driving techniques on this first tank.

Good for you!
Are you "just driviing around", or actually hauling some cargo? What is a typical load and trip?

BTW, what is the speed limit for trucks in Finland? I've noticed that in a few countries it is 90 km/h (but the trucks go just under 100 km/h) while in Poland it is 80 km/h (but the trucks still go just under 100 km/h).

Typical cargo is about 1000-3000 kg stuff. Because this is also my extra warehouse .
I needed extra wareouse and was thinking of buying a sea container but this was so cheap that decided to buy my own test truck.
Typical route will most likely be the same as in first tank. 450km in each direction.

I will not just drive around because fuel is so expensive, but neither will I have the cargo full. Mostly will move my things from place A to B.

Truck speed limit in law is 80 km/h but the limiter is allowed to be at 88 km/h.

This is the current look:

Tomorrow is the aeroscanias yearly registration inspection. Then the modding can really begin .

Did not pass on the first try. Front brakes have 50% brake force difference. Other minor fault was front stabilizer bars mounting rubber was worn out. But nothing unusual.

Brakes also drag:
front rigth 2.2kN
Front left 1.1. kN
both rear 0.7 kN

That must also effect the fuel consumption and the way truck rolls which it does not do at the moment .
