Snot rocket aero mods

I used some aluminum coils stock to make some aerodynamic modifications to my Tercel today. I made a frame to support the wheel skirts out of old floor threshold aluminum. The numbers on my gauge seem to be up a bit after test driving. I would have liked to go even lower with the skirts but I would have had to really bow out the frame to go around the tire if I had gone lower. So I added a little piece in front of the tire to smooth it out a bit. I just screwed the sheeting into the car body. It was easy and I kinda like the “mad max look.

Best thread title! And fun mods.

It's awesome having a car you don't mind putting the sheetmetal screws directly into.

Thanks for the complements. You guys inspired me! I’m starting to feel a little hesitant about building the air dam/splitter going into the winter though. Gasoline fumes told me about hitting a snow drift with his and it sending the snow straight up onto the windshield. That could get a little exciting without windshield wipers :-0
