All Stock 1990 CRX HF only getting 33mpg :(((

I dont know what is going on for it to have such bad fuel economy since its supposed to get upper 40s AT LEAST. What are the main things that could cause this? Its not my driving since i have a 92 civic CX and i drive conservatively the same way in it and still get over 45mpg. Just tell me what to do

Sounds like something is wrong. Do a leakdown test on the engine. I got similar mileage to that with a similar engine when I had a warped head and was burning through coolant and oil constantly.

You can check the tire pressure too.

Are the HFs carb or FI? Could be leaking carb or fuel injector, depending which.

Up through 87 the HF was carbureted, for 1988 and later all US-bound CRXes were fuel injected. The HF (and the Si) used regular multi-point fuel injection, with one injector per cylinder.
