There is a junkyard in my area where i can get these CHEAP. i mean DIRT CHEAP - say - $10 to $50 a pop depending on the actual original car.

instead of spending a fortune for a big motor, is there some way I can use several of the small motors for an EV construction?

I probably wouldn't be able to use one at each wheel because there isn't likely to be an easy computer balancing system to find, I'm thinking more of having 3 or 4 of them under the hood. The problem i see is one may grab the gear more than another causing one to do a brunt of the work.

Any ideas?

I'd like to hook them up to an Anderson CVT and i'm thinking of using a serpentine belt.

Can you give us some specs on these motors? Golf cart motors I'm guessing?

That chop top metro somewhere around here uses several motors rather than one large one.

I'm having trouble finding any motor specs anywhere for "Radiator Fan Motor" (often times it gets confused with the actual motor on the fan blades, but the one i'm refering to is on the cars serpentine belt)

but i am finding that brand new the motors run from $50 to $350 depending on the brand, intended car model, etc.

I see, Radiator fan motors, good for little projects, but I don't think you'd have any luck with anything near full sized

Dremd, one may not be very strong or have alot of options, but i'm refering to using several working together.

Around here you can pick up a junk golf cart for around $200 with a motor equivalent to 10 fan motors. Or if you can do like Metrompg and get a forklift you'd be much better off.

It looks like motors of the same size, the question is the power. a chain system such as they are using may be much simpler and more efficent than a belt system because then it wouldn't depend on friction for gear turning.

Dremd, thanks. I'll keep my eyes open. but the big price all at once won't pass the wife test. she'd be more willing to let me use an allowance system.

You have to thank wives, if it wasn't for them we would lose the mortgage and live in our EVs. LOL
