My understanding is that the Amish have no problem with electricity, what they don't like is the electric grid. They will use generators or solar panels however.

You didn't seriously think all that Amish furniture was being made by hand did you?

The Amish heater needs the secret Amish ingredient added every 6-hours/operation:

The Amish heater is a sales gimmick as others have stated.

The Amish themselves are a bit more complicated. They have sects within sects. Some use rubber tires, others stick with iron. Some wear suspenders, others belts. It goes on and on.

Some 'Amish' aren't even Amish but Mennonites, who also have sects within sects. I know Mennonites who will happily ride in *your* car to the job site, where they will just as happily use *your* electricity, on *your* property, to run *your* tools, while they themselves cannot have a car, nor can they have anything electrical on their own property.

My grandma used one of these ETS-Electric Thermal Storage units in her house. It allowed her to save money by using off-peak energy.
