Anarchism is: fixing your own neighbourhood's potholes

Anarchists Fixing Potholes in Roads in Portland, Oregon : Waking Times

I'm not sure this is worth a new thread. Some people would have you think that Direct Action means smashing windows, when it's really just turning your back on the State. They hate that.

This is kind of incredible. :) I guess I would like to see numbers like how many potholes they fix or amount of asphalt they put down. I'd also like to read about what kind of repair techniques they use.

It's performance art. Heard of Portlandia? :)

But it's in service of political pragmatism. Anarchism has already engulfed the planet, it's the only political system that scales to that extent. Examples? The Open Source Apache server software. Heck, the whole Internet. Cryptocurrencies.

Real Soon Now, someone will implement a smartphone app that fixes potholes, using crowd-sourcing or a bounty system.

I have long wanted to mark a variety of intersections here where there is a 2 lane road that goes into a single, there are no directional arrows so sometimes both lanes try to go straight.

What we have here is a traffic circle that changes from one to two lane halfway around and people just cut across both instead of picking one.

Our town had the bright idea to put a very small traffic circle with a big w in the middle on a "t" intersection on a 2 way highway. 99% of the traffic goes straight through.

99% of the cars coming out of the sub division turn right into town.

In the first snow the snow plow knocked the stone w into the river cause it was too narrow.

West side of Eugene has two of those a few blocks apart. If the local kids don't use that for a circle-8 track, I'd be surprised (and a little sad).

I'm not sure this is a bug, but I know this thread is monitored.

I didn't record the original title of the thread I created, but I'm sure I would never have used the word 'anarchy' to describe a story about anarchism. The point of which was to highlight the difference in the two.

Can you confirm or deny that the title was changed? Or was it always this way and never was the other way?

Hi freebeard...

There was no title prior to splitting this thread from the oil/gasoline price topic.

I had to give it a title, so chose one based on the title of the link in post 1.

I can change it to something else. Fire away.

I want to create enormous potholes on my street.
