Another reason to by an efficient car: top 10 stolen vehicles
Just released for 2009.
The top ten stolen vehicles are:
- 2000 Honda Civic SiR 2-door
- 2003 Cadillac Escalade ESV 4-door AWD
- 1999 Honda Civic SiR 2-door
- 2006 Chevrolet/GMC Trailblazer SS 4-door 4WD
- 2002 Cadillac Escalade EXT 4-door AWD
- 2005 Cadillac Escalade ESV 4-door AWD
- 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder 2-door
- 2000 Audi S4 Quattro 4-door
- 2006 Hummer H2 4-door AWD
- 2005 Cadillac Escalade 4-door 4WD
Note: these are Canadian stats. Not sure how different they'd be in the US.

Apparently the rule of thumb is: if your vehicle has ever appeared in a music video, or is ever outfitted with a fart can muffler, your odds of getting stolen are higher.

I only know one person with a Hummer H2 .... and... it was stolen! He got it back though.

Me too. I'm trying to sell my 95 Civic EX Coupe with the stock D16Z6, but I'm not going to park it out on the street with a "For Sale" sign on it, because I want money for it.
