Any Summer 2011 events?
Maybe I'm not looking in the right areas, but I can't seem to find any events for this summer. New England...near NE...sorta near NE... New mileage figures( thank you EM  ) might extend my trip range this summer  .

The only one I know of is Hybrid Fest AKA Green Drive Expo in Madison, Wisconsin during July.

TAD far for me( just over 1000 miles one way, if I don't go through Canada), though I have been to Waukeshaw for a generator school. Although,... could be a good excuse for a couple Iron Butts . Work on Ultra-Hypermiling  .

What's a special driver's license???
I didn't see anything against boattails in the stuff I read - in fact one pic showed a car with added aero back. I think it was more of a Kamm than a boattail, but who wants to split hairs??
Um, I think that regardless of the route you'll take, I'm pretty sure you'll need to go through Canada to get to Montreal! I'm just razzing you, I understand you're referring to what route you'll take around the Great Lakes.

Montreal is in CANADA?
A passport is needed to go between USA and CAN, now, but you can get a special driver license that works as one. I "think" it can be obtained quicker than a passport. When I was a kid, we used to cross the border almost every weekend  . Differant times, I guess. Had the Monday-from-Hel, so I couldn't call the DMV to find out the time frame. |

Enhanced Drivers License
The "Enhanced drivers license" takes 4 forms of ID, ORIGIONAL birth certificate, Proof of SSN( w-2, ORIGIONAL SSN card, paystub), proof of Address( utility bill, letter from State office, with your name and address), and drivers license. I'm going to have my origional birth certificate(no photocopies or hospital issued- State issued only) flown to me. It then takes 10-14 days for it to be processed. Might just make it in time  . |
